One of the keys to being successful with your internet marketing work is knowing how to outsource tasks effectively and efficiently. I say both “effective” and “efficient” because you need to know how to do both, and they’re no always the same thing.
This means not just getting a gig or task done because it’s cheap or available, or it “might” be a good idea. You need to have a crystal clear picture of what your purpose is behind outsourcing the task, before you get to the point of actually outsourcing it.
One technique I use is to think about whether or not the task would be worth my time to do, and if so, how much of my time. For instance, if I were strapped for resources, would completing that task really be a priority? Would it help to get me to where I needed to be? Or is there a different, perhaps better task I could do that would get me where I need to go more quickly?
These are all key strategy decisions, and should be at the core of any outsourcing you do. It’s easy to waste both time and money on things that you think are cheap, but in reality have no hope of getting you to your goal!
The second consideration, once you know what to do and why to do it, is to figure out how to be most efficient to get the job done for as little time and money possible.
That’s because I don’t really want to interview and hire a VA that can handle everything for me, I narrow the task down to the one or two specific points that absolutely need to get done. Fiverr and a few other gig-based sites are really good at providing those very specific, very clear services.
Sometimes its setting up a social media marketing system, and other times its getting a quick logo or other design task done for a site. Either way, they’re often the best, as long as you know how to pick the right providers.
